MOUNTAIN VIEW COLLEGE
OAK CLIFF, TEXAS

Alternating layers of native Texas granite and limestone form a metaphorical Mountain from which water emanates into a 300 foot long limestone creek which cuts through the site. Hundreds of hand prints, taken from students, faculty and staff, are sandblasted into the granite layers of the work reflecting a sense of the broader community. Near the top of the sculpture fragments of knowledge can be found which allude to the metaphor of climbing a mountain to obtain wisdom.
