Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s future Beltline Station is planned to become the central hub for a technology-based transportation oriented development, a stop away from the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The existing site, defined by native vegetation typical of the Blackland Prairie, has inspired a seamless Texas vernacular style between the landscape and the station architecture. A palette of native grasses, mesquite and cedar elm trees combine with light colored galvanized metal standing seam canopies and native Texas granite and limestone columns that will have the ability to inspire the environmental and architectural ethics of the future Transportation Oriented Development itself.
